about

This is our long awaited third studio album "FREEDOM", our last one "Starry Plough" was recorded in 2010 and "Bodenstown to Boolavogue" early 2009. Our first two albums have sold way beyond any of our expectations and continue to sell. We should have had at least two more albums released in the last four years but due to many different developments and our touring commitments we let the ball drop.
The good news is that its here, it’s done, and we are very pleased with the result. FREEDOM features eight of our own original songs, it’s hard to explain the joy ,satisfaction and sense of accomplishment we feel singing, playing and recording our own songs. We are very lucky to have four singer songwriters in the band. It’s taken nearly five years for us to find our own voice. We are without question an opinionated band, we have strong views on issues which have affected our lives and on the lives of our people, present and past. We have transformed those opinions into songs which are on this album.
Our journey as a band has been an interesting one. From very small goals at the start of the band to reaching for the sky. We are four lads who come from very similar backgrounds, working class born and reared and some of us still living in Council Estates and are no way ashamed of this. We each bring different talents and abilities to The Druids. We are very much aware of our own individual strengths, there is no hierarchy in the band, and we all bring to the table, whatever we can. Above all we have developed a friendship and a comradeship which carries us through many different situations we find ourselves in from time to time. The pathway for our progress has not been made easy at times by outside influences, but we have dealt with them in the proper manner. We have covered many thousands of miles with many more to come. The friendships we have made along the way are very important to us. We have met great people who believe in our songs and music.
